Open Question: MUST SEE cities in Europe?

Currently I'm planning to go traveling around Europe for a several months, but I don't really know exactly where I want to go yet. I think I would like to focus on Northern and Eastern Europe and right now I've got a tentative list of all of the countries I would like to visit. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could offer me advice on what cities/towns(beyond just the capital) in these countries I should make sure I see on my trip.
